PRINCETON —
Rev. Calvin Linwood O'Donell, 73, of 409 Union Drive, Princeton, W.Va., passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at his residence.
Rev. O'Donell was born on August 06, 1939 in McComas, W.Va. to the late Willis and Elma Barger O'Donell. He was a minister for 46 years and was a pastor for churches in Princeton including Friendly Missionary Hall and he was an Evangelist and was attending the Church of God of Prophecy in Midway, W.Va. He worked for Citizens Coal and Supply Company, Woodlawn Memorial Park, Fairmont Milk Company and retired from Flowers Bakery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ray O'Donell; two sisters, Kathleen Asmus and Shirley O'Donell and three infant brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are: His wife of 44 years Linda Jane Taylor O'Donell of the home; son: Stacy and wife Susan O'Donell of Nemours, W.Va..; daughter: Jacqueline Davis and companion Mark Christian of Brushfork, W.Va.; grandchildren: Jacob, Megan, Jocelyn, Chasity, Julianne and Jasmine; two brothers: Garland and wife Molly O'Donell of Speedway, W.Va., Jake and wife Myrtle O'Donell of Glenwood, W.Va.; two sisters: Sue Carter of Sandlick, W.Va., Louise Hinger of Sandlick, W.Va.; special sister-in-law: Brenda O'Donell of Brushfork, W.Va.; special Hospice Care Giver: Amy Phillips. He also has special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held for Rev. O'Donell on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. where the Ministers John Pete Eden, Fred Mooney Sr. and Larry Roberts will be officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W.Va. where Mark Christian, Jerry Taylor, Terry Taylor, Jacob McPherson, Roscoe Hale and Timmy Asmus will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends and family may call at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
