PIPESTEM —
Ronald Wayne Combs Sr., 63, of Pipestem, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born August 16, 1949 in Princeton to the late Frank and Stella Burrell Combs.
He was employed by Smith Services, Princeton, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his daughter, April Combs; sisters, Blanche Cline, Beulah Pendleton, and Peggy Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Combs, of Pipestem; children, Ronald “R.J.” Combs Jr. and Tamara Payne, of Bluefield, and David and Hope Goff, of Princeton; grandchildren, Brantley Combs, Khristian Goff, and Taylor Goff; brothers, Lester and Dee Combs, Ray and Cathy Combs, Roger and Chris Combs, and Doug and Lynn Combs, all of Princeton; sisters, Rose and Joel Ramsey, of Bassett, Va., Ann and Stan Whitt, Colonial Heights, Va., Betty Lilly, of Princeton, and Karen and Jeff Bishop, of Lerona; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Combs will be sadly missed by his friends, including his best friend, Sue Harvey.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Dallas Peyton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to the service hour. Online condolence may be shared via www.memorialfd.com
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 5001 W. Broad St., Suite 217, Richmond, VA 23230.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
