BLAND, Va —
Linda Elizabeth Davis, age 60, of Bland, Va., passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was born on May 21, 1952 in Wythe County, the daughter of the late Randolph Dow Davis and Hazel Waddle Davis.
Linda was a lifelong member of Greenhill Union Church. She was a member of the Bland Fair Association, Bland Historical Association and Ceres Alumni and very actively involved with each of them. Linda loved playing Bingo and enjoyed traveling.
She enjoyed keeping up with her many friends on Facebook. She also loved her cat “Ginger.”
Linda was a caregiver to her family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Regina D. Lowman of Black Lick, Ohio; special cousins, Randolph and Lois Davis, Pamela Hill, Robert Davis and Willard Peck, all of Bland; special friends, Buddy and Lori Waddle, Lois Gayle Yonce, Josephine Phillips and Brenda Havens; special friends and caregivers, Larry and Ethel Cox; her cat, “Ginger”.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Ted Anders officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at Temple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made to the Bland County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 585, Bland, VA 24315.
