POUNDING MILL, Va. —
Raymond Forrest Cline, age 78, of Pounding Mill, Va., went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Va. Raymond was born in his childhood home of Isaban, W.Va. on December 4, 1934 and was the son of the late Johnce and Pearl Cline of Gilbert, W.Va.
Mr. Cline has made his home in the Pounding Mill area for the past 33 years. He is a 1953 graduate of Gilbert High School in Mingo County, W.Va. and spent his life working in the coal industry as a coal operator in West Virginia and Virginia. He was an active member of Fincastle Baptist Church in Tazewell, Va. where he served in many capacities. Mr. Cline was a member at Isaban Baptist Church in Isaban, W.Va., and a Charter Member of Horsepen Baptist Church in Gilbert, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Frank J. Cline; one sister, Ruth Cline Pack; brother-in-law, Alvin “Bo” Smith, and daughter-in-law, Betty Underwood Cline.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Norma J. Waugh Cline; two sons, Jeffrey Cline and wife, Tina and David Cline both of Pounding Mill, Va.; one daughter, Twila Cline Lester and husband, Richard of Pounding Mill, Va.; fifteen grandchildren, Krista Mabry and husband, John, Scott Cline, Jonathan Cline and wife, Crystal, Kayla Cline, Brandon Stinnette, Christopher Miller and wife, Jessica, Corey Miller, Emily Spence, Tiffanee Lloyd and husband, Matthew, Joshua Cline and wife, Peyton, Zachary Cline and wife, Leah, Kaleb Cline, Hannah Lester, Kyle Lester, Karsyn Lester, and nine great-grandchildren; six sisters, Barbara Groene and husband, Bob of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jean Roberts and husband, Warren of Iaeger, W.Va., Helen Smith, Diane Fields and husband, Glen, and Carol Cline all of Gilbert, W.Va., Sherry Justice and husband, Gary of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Bobby Cline of Gilbert, W.Va. Mr. Cline also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Funeral services for Raymond Forrest Cline will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend William W. Wyrick and the Reverend J.C. Steele officiating. Entombment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Richard J. Lester, John Mabry, Scott Cline, Joshua Cline, Jonathan Cline, Zachary Cline, Kaleb Cline, and Kyle Lester. Honorary pallbearers will be Walt Armstrong, the Reverend Franklin Rowe, Bobby Cline, Edward Laney and Clarence Lowe.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013.
In addition to floral expressions, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society at 1808 Jefferson Street, Bluefield, WV 24701 in memory of Raymond Forrest Cline.
