BLUEFIELD —
Andra Loletha Clements Amaker departed this life to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her Bluefield home following an extended illness.
Born on May 24, 1956 in Bluefield, W.Va., she attended local public schools in Bluefield. Andra attended Bluefield State College and MCTCV where she attained her nursing license. Andra worked in the health care field for a number of years.
Andra was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles Collins where she was a member of the Senior Choir.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Regis M. Clements, and her stepfather, Thomas E. Clements; her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Gladys Hicks, and her maternal grandmother, Ruby Baker.
She is survived by her father, Charles (Mary) Hicks of Lillington, N.C.; her son, Donald Edward Amaker (Courtney) of Princeton, W.Va.; her daughter, Aleshia N. Jones (Stewart) of Bluefield, W.Va.; sisters, Charlene Hicks of Lillington, N.C., Thomasteen (Tina) Bradshaw of Bluefield, W.Va., and Daynora (Lynn) Clements-Caul of Durham, N.C.; brothers, Terry Hicks (Rixine)of Fort Washington, Md., Michael (Emily) Hicks of Sandford, N.C., Rodney Hicks of Durham, N.C., Gary Ridley of Bluefield; grandsons, Tres and Chance Amaker of Princeton, Nasir Brown of Bluefield, and a granddaughter, Nevaeh Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, stepbrothers, and stepsisters.
Going Home Celebration will be conducted Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church in Bluefield, with the Rev. Charles Collins officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Cremation to follow service.
Richardson Funeral Home of Bluefield is in charge of arrangements.
