ROANOKE, Va —
Betty Hicks Dunford, 80, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was a member of Clearbrook Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dalton Dunford; parents, Kelly Lee Hicks and Lily Carr Hicks; sister, Ester Saunders; brother, Lewis Hicks.
She is survived by her special companion, Hugh Jacobs; beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella Tiller, Pat and Fred Goodpasture, Janice and Olander English; and Trina Hicks and many nieces and nephews; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Bob Mobley, Somona and Jeffrey Stacey, and Jeanette Barrios; grandchildren, Dalton Cupp, Michael Cupp, Dustin Smith, Sheldon Stacey, Miranda Stacey, William Dogan and wife, Samantha, and Chandra Dogan; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Haven and Lili; special friends, Timmy Palmer, Rita Clark and Troy Parker; Pat and Fred Goodpasture and Janice and Olander English for their dedicated support and unconditional love; and our “families” at Gentle Shepherd, Hardees and Davids Bridal.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Oakey's North Chapel in Roanoke, with the Rev. Olander English officiating. The interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Oakey's North Chapel.
