PRINCETON —
Charles William “Charlie” Rose, 62, of Roth Street, Princeton, died early Saturday morning, February 16, 2013, from injuries received following an auto accident on the West Virginia Turnpike.
He was born October 24, 1950, in Princeton, and was the son of the late Charlie Rose and Edith Marie Snapp Rose.
Charlie was a lifelong resident of Princeton.
He was a former employee of Gibbs Motor Company and Ramey Automotive, both of Princeton. Charlie served as a paper carrier for the Bluefield Daily Telegraph for more than 20 years, and was currently a paper carrier for the Charleston Daily News for the past four years. Charlie loved his family, was a car enthusiast, love watching wrestling and appreciated Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Rose Fuller; two nephews, Quintin Fuller and Joshua Mitchem, along with his father-in-law, C.A. “Harold” Long.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 32 years, Elaine Long Rose; a daughter, Edith M. “Tweety” White of Mooresville, North Carolina; stepchildren, Shawn Vest and his wife Tammy, and Michele “Huldy” Vest all of Princeton; grandchildren, Brooke, Nathan, and Rickey White all of Mooresville, North Carolina, Corey “Clown” Vest, Jaime “Baby” Vest, Whitni “Fuzzball” Vest, and Autum “Whiney” Barbour all of Princeton; three brothers, George Rose and wife Susie of Lashmeet, Albert “Spec” Rose, Harold Rose both of Princeton; sisters, Sarah Hazelwood and husband Russ, Mary Rose, Ruth Rose, Brenda Mitchem and husband Jimmy, and Darlene Bailey and husband Junior; mother-in-law, Arlene Powell Long of Princeton; and brother-in-law, Elmer Fuller of Princeton.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Connie Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
