PRINCETON —
Bodonya Wayne Mays, 70, of Princeton, formerly of Rich Creek and Peterstown, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Peterstown on Oct. 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Marvin Gale and Nina Rivers Smith Mays Vest. He was a veteran having served his country for 24 years with both the US Army and US Air Force. He retired as a surveyor working mostly on road construction.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Abraham and Estelle Smith and his paternal grandparents, John and Lacy Mays.
He is survived by his son, Marvin Mays of Taylor, Mich.; granddaughter, Brandi Mays also of Taylor, Mich.; sister, Meralyn Mays Meadows and husband JR of Greensboro, N.C.; companion, Annette Place and her son Greg of Princeton; nephews, Jeff Meadows and wife Kim of Yulee, Fla. and Steven Meadows and wife Cynthia of Climax, N.C.; niece, Lora Blom and husband Mike of Ft. Mill, S.C.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton.
The Mays family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
