ROANOKE, Va. —
Nola “June” Howery, age 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, with her daughter, Janel Howery, and granddaughter, Autumn Daniel by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Margareth Michael; loving husband of 55 years, Buck Howery; brother, Allen Elsworth Michael; and sister, Jean Carol Akers.
In addition to her daughter and granddaughter, she is survived by a son, Kenneth R. Howery Jr.
June was described by her friends and family as a fine and kind lady. During her lifetime, June’s greatest reward was serving the Lord no matter where she lived. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and was an avid reader. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Chapel for over 30 years. She also enjoyed spending precious time with her dear friend, Jennifer Alicie.
A casual gathering and memorial service will be held at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, Tazewell, on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 with visitation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and memorial service starting at 7 p.m., with Pastor Dale Daniel officiating.
