NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. —
Bonnie Lynn Kirk Rasnake, age 81, of the Baptist Valley community in North Tazewell, Va. died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga. Born February 5, 1931 in Pike County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Revile Crabtree Kirk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Larry Douglas Rasnake who died September 7, 2012; three sisters, Ruby Maddox, Audrey Thomas, and Mary Hanning; half brother, Charles Kirk.
Left to cherish her memory are three granddaughters, Jamie Coleman of Buford, Ga., Jana Longona and husband, Art of Grove City, Ohio, and Joanne Faux and husband, Tom of Columbus, Ohio; grandson, Jeff Coleman and wife, Dawn of Columbus, Ohio; eight great-grandsons, Evan, Eric, Troy, Travis, Chase, Cole, Spencer, and Mason; one sister, Rose Bales and husband, Jerry of Piney Flats, Tenn.; one brother, Denver Kirk of Columbus, Ohio; daughters-in-law, Dana Coleman of Las Vegas, Nev. and Sondra Hareesty of Columbus, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Clara Rasnake; Danny Ogle who was like a son to her and Jonathan Ogle who was like a grandson; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Bandy Cemetery in Baptist Valley, Va. with the Reverend Billy Dean and the Reverend Adam Frye officiating. Her great-grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to the American Heart Association, C/O Marie Alicie, P.O. Box 909, Tazewell, VA 24651.
