BLUEFIELD —
William Clinton (Willie) Gomillian, age 57, of Bluefield, was called home to God on Christmas day, Dec. 25, 2012 at Princeton Community Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Willie was born to the late Johnnie James Gomillian and Arthmae Lois Jefferies Gomillian on Jan. 2, 1955 in Charlotte, N.C. He attended Charlotte public schools and was employed as a cook. He was last employed as a cook at Princeton Community Hospital until he became disabled. At the hospital, Willie was known for his famous "Willie Burgers.”
He was a member of Faith Center Church in Bluefield.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Jr. and Charles; and one sister, Maxine.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Patricia Godfrey Gomillian; daughter, Florence "Shenae" Barnes; special daughter and caregiver, Tammy Y. Godfrey; stepson, Kevin E. Murray of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Reginald (Katrina) Gomillion of Charlotte, N.C., and Jason Gomillion of Wilmington, N.C.; one sister, Christine Gomillion of Charlotte, N.C. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funerals services will be held today (Saturday), Dec. 29, 2012 at noon at Faith Center Church in Bluefield with Bishop Frederick M. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
Friends may call one hour prior to service.
Richardson Funeral Home of Bluefield is in charge of arrangements.
