PRINCETON —
Harold Ray Thompson Sr., 77, of Lomax Lane, Princeton, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his residence.
Born August 16, 1935, in Athens, W.Va., he was the last surviving child of the late William “Bill” and Lillie Brooks Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was a former employee of the West Virginia Department of Highway as maintenance. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by wife, Delores Bailey Thompson; sister, Thelma “T.T.” Hubbard; and brothers, Jack Thompson, Alvin Thompson, Paul Thompson and Pete Thompson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Rebecca Skeens and husband, Billy of Princeton, Susan Piersall and companion, Kevin White of Montcalm, Pamela Mustard and husband, Brian of Bluefield, and Junior Thompson and wife, Susan of Princeton. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Amanda Thomas, Erica Skeens, Destinee Thompson, Adrianna Thompson, Rayleigh Thompson, Heather Mustard, Jessica Mustard, Zack Mustard, April Piersall Blankenship, Johnathon Blankenship, Chris Thompson, and Bryce Phillips; nine great-grandchildren, Trenten Braun, Jayden Thomas, Brayden Baker, Talley Tabor, Isabella McBride, Jayla Harris, Alexa Mustard, Cameron Mustard and Jordan Mustard; dear friends, Cindy Christian, Trudy Puffenburger, and Joy Dratt; and special caregivers at Amedysis Hospice.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory with Pastors Eddie Day and C.T. Lilly officiating. Interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Princeton.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26 at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Scottie Farley, Kevin White, Glenn Myers, Jetty Lawrence, Donald Lyons, and Brian Lane.
