Laurie C. Johnson, 47, of Princeton died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at her residence following a long illness. Born Dec. 29, 1965, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of Jerry Ann Laufer of Princeton and the late Earl C. Johnson.
Laurie was a graduate of Princeton High School and continued her education at Bluefield State College where she earned an associate degree in law enforcement in 1990. She was an employee of the Alabama division of Norfolk Southern Railroad for ten years before moving back to Princeton. Laurie was employed by Feutchenberger and Barringer Legal Corporation in Princeton until she became unable to work.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include one sister, Vicki K. Flanigan and husband Larry of Winchester, Va.; and three aunts, Mary Louise Fisher of Charleston, Peggy Jean Reed, and Nancy Martz and companion Shelby Kitts, all of Princeton. Laurie also leaves behind her beloved kitten, Lily, whom she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Bobby Sylvia and Clinton Goff officiating. In keeping with Laurie's wishes, she will be cremated following the service. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour Sunday.
