ELON, N.C. —
Beverly Cheryl Bailey, 65, of Elon, N.C., a former resident of Lashmeet, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at her residence. Born in Princeton June 14, 1947, she was raised by the late Tresse and Crancy McComas.
She retired as a teacher from the Mercer County School System with 32 years of service, last teaching at Lashmeet-Matoaka Elementary School. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Lashmeet. She had been a resident of Elon since 2008, moving there to make her home with her daughter.
In addition to Mr. and Mrs. McComas, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Dale L. Bailey Jr.; two grandsons, Anthony and Alexander Bailey; and one brother, Robert Bumgardner.
Survivors include one son, Michael Anthony Bailey and his wife Stephanie and their daughter Kayce of Catawba, N.C.; and one daughter, with whom she made her home, Shonda Denise Tugalee and her husband Jackie Jr. and their children Bridgette and Allyson; one brother, William Rutledge and his wife Karen and their daughter Aundrea of Lashmeet.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Beverly will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Mike Whisman and Pastor Keith Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 1 p.m. to the service hour on Saturday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
