NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. —
Frances Akers Osborne, age 77, of North Tazewell, Va., died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Welmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. Born February 17, 1935 in Tazewell County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Lowe Akers.
She was a member of the Open Door Community Church in Baptist Valley, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Joe Osborne.
She is survived by her husband, Sherman Osborne; one daughter, Brenda Howery of Richlands, Va.; one son, Roger Osborne and wife, Terri of Springville, Va.; three sisters, Jane Smith and husband, Kelly of Thomasville, N.C., Mary Ellen Smith of North Tazewell, Va., and Betty Donithan and husband, Doug of Bluefield, Va.; two brothers, Bill Akers and wife, Mary of Fayetteville, N.C. and Marvin Akers and wife, Peggy of Bluefield, Va.; children whom she loved as grandchildren, Cheyenne Osborne, Brandon Stinson, Tyler Stinson, Crissy Stinson, Davin Stinson, Dylan Stinson, Brooke Stinson, and Sheldon Hurt; several nieces, nephews, her church family, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with Pastor Charlie McGlothlin officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be D.J. Stinson, Tyler Stinson, Gene Mosley, James Hall, Rodney Dowdy, and Roger Helton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
