CHARLOTTESVILLE, N.C. —
Genny Denise Bohon, 52, entered Heaven’s gates on January 17, 2012, surrounded by her family at The University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va. after winning a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was born July 31, 1959 in Grundy, Va. to the late Stanton and Delphine Stiltner and lived in the area most of her life. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pounding Mill, Va. Genny’s kindness, sweet smile and personality captured the hearts of every one she met. She always put everybody else’s needs before her own. She was sales manager for Lowe’s until she retired in 2007 to become a full time “Grammy” to the light of her life Princess Brenley Claire Bohon. She was also preceded in death by her special father-in-law, Chuck Bohon and sister-in-law, Sandy Stiltner.
She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 33 years, Charles “Buzz” Bohon Jr.; son, Charles “Chucky” Bohon III and wife Renee of Claypool Hill, Va.; sister, Connie Ratliff of Richlands, Va.; brothers, David Stiltner of Abingdon, Va., Pat Stiltner and wife Kim of Grundy, Va.; her mother-in-law, Ann Bohon who thought of her as a daughter; sisters-in-law, Harty Loria and husband Mark of Rochester, N.Y., Jenilynn Quillen and husband Mike of Kingsport, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Joe Bohon and wife Patricia of Greeneville, Tenn., Paul Bohon and wife Dara of Bristol, Va.; nieces, Katy Vass and husband Brian, Hailey Thompson and husband Justin, Kassie Ratliff, Anna Loria and Haley Bohon; nephews, Shawn Stiltner, Andrew Stiltner, Jonathan Ratliff, Dustin Bohon, Mark Loria, Luke Bohon, Reese Bohon. Genny is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, friends and sisters in Christ at Emmanuel that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va. with Pastor Jimmy Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be nephews.
