PRINCETON —
Christopher Dale “Chris” Thomas, 60, of 604 Midway Street in Princeton, died Sunday, Feb, 19, 2012, at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, W.Va. Born Sept. 29, 1951 in Bluefield he was the son of Christine Tolley Argabright of Princeton and the late Opie Thomas. He was a graduate of Princeton High School. Chris was a retired plant operator for an automated concrete batch plant in Northfield, N.J. and had been a resident of Northfield until returning to Princeton in 1990. He was a member of the Princeton Church of God and a former member of the Princeton Elks Lodge 1459. Chris played Santa Claus for 17 years for the needy children in the area. In addition to his father, two brothers, Tony Thomas and Charles “Mickey” Thomas; and his stepfather, Victor Argabright preceded him in death.
Additional survivors include his wife of 37 years, Deborah Diane Beggs Thomas of Princeton; two daughters, Christie Thomas and Destiny Thomas, both of Princeton; one grandson, Timothy Asbury; and two sisters, Sandra Hylton and husband, Wayne and Ruth Sneed and husband, John, all of Princeton. In keeping with Chris' wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Evangelist John Hart officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to assist the family may be made to Seaver Funeral Home, 1507 N. Walker St., Princeton, WV 24740.
