SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. —
Mary Juanita Johnson Walker died on Sunday, October 7, 2012. She was born on August 3, 1941 to the late Jessie Johnson and Gracie Blanche Johnson Wooldridge.
She moved to Optimum Lane in Springfield, Tenn. in 2007 from Anawalt, W.Va. She lived a very happy life, devoting herself to God, her husband and family. She drove a bus for McDowell County Schools for several years.
On May 14, 1960, she married her sweetheart and celebrated 52 wonderful years with him. God blessed them with three sons, six grandsons, one granddaughter and three daughters-in-law who all adored her. She became a Christian at an early age serving as Sunday school secretary for many years at Long Point Missionary Baptist Church. She joined South Haven Baptist Church in 2007 and grew to love it and the people dearly. Her grandson, Nicholas Walker was waiting to welcome her home.
She leaves behind a family that cherished every second spent with her: Her husband, Denver Dale Walker; her sons and their families, Chris, Sherry, Jacob and Jason Walker of Springfield, Tenn., Rodney, Creatha, Justin, Emily and Kellie Jo Walker of Denver, N.C., Brian, Tracie, Maddux and Braxtun Walker of Denver, N.C.; and brother, Jack Johnson and his wife Irene and their family of Sevierville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home in Springfield, Tenn., with visitation from 4-7 p.m. prior to the service. Their will be another visitation on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Long Point Missionary Baptist Church in Anawalt, W.Va. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday in the Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers. Family and friends wishing to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. by 11:00 a.m.
