Ann Walker Kibler

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Ann Walker Kibler, 83, went to be with Jesus on September 29, 2012 from the home of her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, after several years of declining health.

She was born in Appalachia, Va., lived in Norton, Va. for many years, then moved to Bluefield, W.Va., where she made her home until joining her daughter and family in Johnson City, Tenn. She was an active member in her churches for years. She devoted her life to caring for her family, friends and God’s work.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Margaret Hyatt Walker; her husband, Kenneth Carl Kibler; and her son, John Hyatt Kibler.

Survivors include her daughters: Margaret Ann Boggess and husband Benny of Lexington, S.C. and Nina Kibler Hancock and husband Mike of Johnson City, Tenn.; one sister, Johnnie Kibler and husband Jack (Kenneth’s brother) of Appalachia, Va., John’s beloved wife, Margaret Smith Kibler of Bluefield, W.Va.; grandchildren, Todd Kibler and wife Shannon of Winston-Salem, N.C., Jeremiah Kibler and wife Keisha of Morgantown, W.Va., Loucinda Kibler Copley and husband Chris of Bluefield, W.Va., Grace Ann Hancock of Johnson City, Tenn.; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Kibler of Winston-Salem, N.C. Ann is also survived by beloved brothers and sisters in-law, nephews, nieces and cousins.

The memorial service will take place on Oct. 13, 2012 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2005 Washington Street, Bluefield, W.Va., where she served for many years, even going on a mission trip to Uganda at age 55. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service/celebration of life to begin at 3:00 p.m.
