DALEVILLE, Va. —
Nick Constantino, 90, of Daleville, formerly of McDowell, W.Va., died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital.
Born October 31, 1922, he was the son of the late Louie and Anna Maria Falcamata Constantino. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, Roanoke, Va. as a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council #562 since 1994. He also was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Powhatan, W.Va. where he was a member of The Holy Name Society and a Eucharistic Minister and he was a member of The Italian-American Heritage Club.
He played football for Northfork High School for four years and made the McDowell All County Team for three consecutive years (1941-43). Nick achieved the highest scoring record for two consecutive years and as of today continues to hold this record. He worked at Rolfe Pocahontas Fuel from 1944-51. In 1948 bought and ran a Sandwich Shop. From 1951--84 he worked at Eastern Coal Mines. His many jobs included loading coal, working on tracks and timbers, and mining coal. He retired as an electrician in 1984.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, David Constantino; son-in-law, James Wright; brothers and sisters, Mattie Carmella Cline and husband Johnny, Frank Constantino and wife Nellie, Sam Constantino and wife Louise, Antonia Constantino, Rose Maria Constantino, Maria Antoinette Constantino, Chris Constantino; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Surviving him are his wife of 60 years, Hazel Constantino and their daughters, Lynette Wright, Rochelle Palazzola and husband Sal, Bernadette D'Alessandro and husband John; two brothers, Tony Constantino and wife Earline, Joe Constantino and wife Sue; one sister, Angel Constantino; four grandchildren, Lucia Constantino, Alyssia Palazzola, Brianna Palazzola and Andrew D'Alessandro; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Rader Funeral Home-Daleville. A mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Andrews Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas G. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bluewell W.Va. The Rev. Paul Manickathan will conduct the graveside service at 2:30 p.m.
