BLUEFIELD —
Peggy June Bailey, 82, of Mountain Ash Drive, Bluefield, W.Va., went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her daughter’s home.
Born April 15, 1930 in Thornhill, she was the daughter of the late Harry Stone Griffith and the late Sue Hodges Griffith. Peggy was a high school graduate and attended both Bramwell and Montcalm High Schools. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Peggy retied from Hills Department Store and then reentered the work force to work for Ames Department Store. Earlier in her life she worked for Duhring Post Office.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bailey; sisters, Lucille Richards and Elsie Gilmore; brothers, Boyd and Coy Griffith; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Hope Thomason.
Survivors include: Three children: Darlene Thomas and husband Wayne of Princeton, W.Va., Beverly Lafferty of Bluefield, W.Va., Darrell B. Bailey and wife Carrie of Bluefield, W.Va.; one brother: Blaine Griffith of Indian; one sister: Nina Farmer of Bluefield, W.Va.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Roselawn Memorial Gardens of Princeton, W.Va. with Minister Martha Boyd officiating the graveside service. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Thomason, Joshua Bailey, Brandon Bailey, Justin Lafferty, Wayne Thomas and Jonathan Milton.
Friends and family may call at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Those wishing to attend the Graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 100 Hill Top Lane, Princeton, WV 24747.
