BLUEFIELD —
Larry Edward Burkhart, 46, of 1209 Glendale Avenue, Bluefield, W.Va., died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born June 1, 1965 in Bluefield, W.Va., he was a son of Nancy A. Burkhart of Bluefield, W.Va. and the late Claude R. Burkhart.
Mr. Burkhart was of the Protestant faith and attended Westminster Presbyterian Chapel. He worked as a truck driver for the Sanitary Board of Bluefield, a job that he loved to do. He was also a fan of NASCAR and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Emily Kaye Burkhart; one brother, Michael Burkhart; and one nephew, Stevie Burkhart.
In addition to his mother, Nancy A. Burkhart, survivors include his wife, Emma C. Burkhart of Bluefield; three children, Heather Marie Fowler and her husband Brad, Eddie Burkhart, and Karie Wall, all of Bluefield; one sister, Deborah Nunn and husband Larry of Bluefield; one brother, Steve Burkhart and wife Paula of Bluefield; two grandchildren, Malachi Fowler and MaKayla Hager; and two nephews, Tim Burkhart and Tony Nunn.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael York officiating. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
