BLUEFIELD —
Eloise B. Hill, 86, of Bluefield, W.Va., left this world to join Jesus in Heaven on Thursday, February 2, 2012.
Born August 27, 1925 in Landville, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Thomas Buzzard and Katherine Sturgell Buzzard. Mrs. Hill was a member of Maple View Christian Church. She was a graduate of Mann High School and received a scholarship to Bluefield College where she earned her undergraduate degree. She also went on to obtain a Master's degree. Mrs. Hill taught special education at Glenwood School for 30 years. She was also on the Senior's Bowling League at Mountaineer Lanes for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hill; siblings, Thomas Buzzard, Ben Buzzard, Summers Buzzard, Hazel Stafford, Madeline Trott, Jessie McClung and Mabel Ellis.
Survivors include one sister, Juanita Fraley of Logan, W.Va.; special niece, Annie Walls of Lyburn, W.Va.; special friends and caretakers, Bobby and Nancy Lowe of Bluefield, W.Va.; and special friends, Libby Perdue, Judy McKenzie and Laura Poe.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jonathan Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where friends will serve as pallbearers.
