Minnie Eloise Gillespie Lowe
BLUEFIELD — Minnie Eloise Gillespie Lowe, age 70, of the Maples Nursing Home (1600 Bland Street), Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born on April 9, 1942 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Reese Melvin and Ethel Mae Arthur Gillespie. She had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life and was a member of the Salvation Army and Home League for 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Reggie Lowe; her ex-husband, Harold Lowe; and her sisters, Mrs. Daniel Katheryn Gillespie Johnson, Betty Gillespie Bowman, Mrs. John Gertrude Gillespie Fulp; and a niece, Dana Johnson Andrews.
Survivors include niece, Jeannie Bowman Hehn; nephews, Gary Johnson, James and Bobby Fulp; cousin and surrogate, James and Dorothy Palmer; many other cousins and loved ones.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Captain Jerry Lester and Lt. Mike Michaels officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00-1:00 at the funeral home.
