Geneva Moon Clark
PRINCETON — Geneva Moon Clark, 91, of Princeton died Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Springfield Center in Lindside, W.Va. Mrs. Clark was born January 29, 1922 in Maybeury, W.Va., to the late Reverend Elijah W. Moon and Mary L. Fox Moon.
She was educated in West Virginia and graduated from Genoa High School. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Princeton serving on the kitchen committee, deacon wives committee, and the Willing Workers Club. She worked at Princeton Community Hospital in the dietary department for several years and also volunteered as a Foster Grandparent, known as “Granny” at Princeton Senior High School for twenty years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph V. Clark, Sr., one son, Joseph V. Clark, Jr., three sisters, Naomi Moon, Mary Helena Moon, and Margaret Ellen Majo; and three brothers, Thurman Moon, Earlie Moon, and Mark Moon.
Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Peggy Diane Clark of Princeton; several nieces and nephews including nephew, Stuart Moon and companion Roberta of Christiansburg, Va., who Geneva considered a son after the death of Joseph Clark, Jr.; three brothers, Andrew Moon and wife Pearl of Richmond, Va., Micah Moon and wife Debbie of Indianapolis, Ind., and Edgar Moon and wife Thelma of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Norma Cornish of Philadelphia, Pa., Sarah Saunders and husband Edward of Roanoke,Va., and Ernestine Hunt of Lynch Station, Va.; four grandchildren, Veronica Bost and husband Bryant, Stephanie Frazier, Steven Clark and wife Anna, and Stacey Owen; and Lelia Clark, mother of Steven and Stacey. *Aunt Geneva's special words to nephew Stuart Moon-Always remember a lot of us have come and gone, so in my absence, keep your eyes on Suzy Q, for you are the Big Boy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. T.M. Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Littlesburg Rd., Bluefield. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Saturday.
