William Remines Roberts
BLUEFIELD — William Remines Roberts, 82, of Bluefield, W.Va., died Wednesday February 20, 2013 at his home.
Born April 22, 1931 in Grundy, Va., he was a son of the late Lee and Elizabeth Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a member of Maple View Church of Christ. He was a good and humble man who enjoyed tinkering. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed gardening and loved his pets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Roberts; one daughter, Regina Roberts; brothers, Merland Blair and Franklin D. Roberts; and his sisters, Omia Owens, Alice Mowles and Bessie Mortz.
Survivors include one son, Ron Roberts and wife Kathy of Bluefield; grandson, Derik Roberts of Bluefield; granddaughter, Melissa Roberts of Bluefield; great-grandson, Logan Harman of Bluefield; brother, Willard Blair of Baltimore, Md.; sisters, Mary Muncy of Peterstown, W.Va., and Rosetta Shelton of Yukon, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 22, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday February 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Reed officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military graveside rites will be rendered by the Mercer County Veteran's Council.
