PETERSTOWN —
Genevieve Dillion, age 91, of Peterstown, W.Va., passed away Friday, November 2, 2012, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital. Born April 17, 1921 on Green Valley Road, Peterstown, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Fred Horton and Lola V. Ball Thomas.
Mrs. Dillion had worked for the Celanese Corp., in the Beaming Department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Dillion; two sons, Charles Eugene and Jimmie Dale Dillon; two brothers, Fred Hunter Thomas, and Buddy Thomas; three sisters, Lola Gertrude “Wanda” Brookman, Madge Anna Hall, and Mildred Virginia Page; and one grandson, Gary Allen Ballard.
Survivors include two daughters, Tommie Jane Blankenship of Green Valley Road, Peterstown, W.Va., and Trudy Ann Taylor and husband Larry of Princeton, W.Va..; eight grandchildren, Grady Ballard and Regina of Parkersburg, W.Va., Terri Myers and husband Rick, Genny Powell and husband Rodney all of Lindside, W.Va., Angie Stewart, Chad Taylor and wife Tammy, Kerrie Williams and Frank all of Princeton, W.Va., Todd Dillon of Culpeper, Va., and Laurie Ann Searle and husband John of Riverside, Calif.; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Raines of Lindside, W.Va., Ella Page of Peterstown, W.Va., and Margie Lathan near Tampa, Fla.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, with Minister Donald Henegar and Barry Harper officiating. A private family burial will follow at the Williams Cemetery, Green Valley Road, Peterstown, W.Va., the following day. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until time of services Monday evening, November 5, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Williams Cemetery, C/O Donnie Williams, Rt. 1 Box 180, Peterstown, WV 24963.
