TAZEWELL, Va. —
On October 30, 2012 God called another angel home. Mary Elizabeth Howery, age 72, of Tazewell, Va. passed away at her home.
Born May 7, 1940, in Tazewell, Va., she was a daughter of the late Bill and Mary Asbury. She was a devoted Christian and a great believer in the power of prayer. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Howery; two sons, Keith Howery and Bill Howery; daughter, Debbie Davidson; grandson, Blake Howery; son-in-law. Steven Davis; and grandson-in-law, Allan Myers. A sister, Stella Howery followed her in death Wednesday, October 31, 2012.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda G. Davis and one son, Greg Howery both of the home; two sisters, Nellie Cregger of Tazewell, Va. and Martha Holmes of Richlands, Va.; five grandchildren, Melissa Cochran, Christina Myers, B.J. Howery, Kaleb Howery, and Andrew Howery; six great-grandchildren, Hagen Cochran, Brannon Cochran, Cade Myers, Jayden Myers, Kelsey Howery, and Madison Howery; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Howery of Tazewell, Va.; special family members, Tammy Mitchem and Natasha Simpson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Barry Absher and Jason Snapp officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Thompson Valley, Va. Pallbearers will be Don Howery, J.W. Howery, Eddie Mitchem, Zack Simpson, Roger Simpson, and Jason Harrison.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
