BASTIAN, Va. — Elsie Otey Ritchey, 96, of the Bland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bastian, Va., formerly of Singer Lane in Princeton, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her residence.

Born March 1, 1916 in Crumpler, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Leonard Clyde Otey and Flora Alice Bishop Otey. She was a graduate of Northfork High School and attended the Roanoke Business College in Roanoke, Va. Elsie was a retired bank teller working at the First Clark National Bank in Northfork, Mercer County Bank and One Valley Bank in Princeton prior to her retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Eugene Ritchey; eight brothers, and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include several nephews and nieces including caregivers, William H. Tankersley and wife Barbara of Princeton.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Wayne Jarrett officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics, 1133 19th St., NW, Washington, DC 20036.
