BASTIAN, Va. —
Harry Edward Morehead, 70, of 8955 N. Scenic Highway, Bastian, Va., died Saturday Jan. 26, 2013.
Born July 7, 1942 in Bastian, Va., he was a son of the late William Clarence Morehead and Eula Ora Smith Morehead. Mr. Morehead was a lifelong resident of Bland County and was retired from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. He took great pride in taking care of his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Billy Morehead, Bessie Brown, Phyllis Radford, Marshall Morehead and Richard Morehead.
Survivors include one brother, Max Morehead and wife Emma of North Carolina; two sisters, Marilyn Bartel of Bluefield and Carol Mahoney and husband Walter of Pittsburgh, Pa.; fourteen nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Jack.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday Feb. 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel.
Private burial will take place at a later date at Shrader Cemetery in Rocky Gap, Va.
