Isaac Lawrence “Bimbo” Garrett

PRINCETON —  Isaac Lawrence “Bimbo” Garrett, 59, of 205 Jera K Street in Princeton died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at his residence. Born Sept. 2, 1953 in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Isaac Lawrence Garrett Sr. and Hazel Irene Saunders Garrett.

Isaac was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran serving from 1972 to 1974. He was the former owner/operator of Garrett Construction and formerly worked in the coal mines. He formerly attended the Old Fashioned Full Gospel Holiness Church in Northfork. He had been a resident of Princeton since 1998, moving here from Elkhorn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Jackson James Canterbury; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Davis and Jack James.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Gay Lambert Garrett of Princeton; one daughter, Shannon Mae Garrett of Princeton; three grandchildren, Landon Isaac Garrett, Laken Nicole Garrett, and Jacob Lee Canterbury; four brothers, Fred Lawrence Garrett and wife Darlene of Saundersville, Ga., James Lee Garrett and wife Sue of Davisboro, Ga., Freddie Wayne Garrett and wife Linda of Princeton, and Timmy Joe Garrett and wife Debra of Anderson, S.C.; three sisters, Pamela Sue Davis of Sutton, Linda Ann Garrett of Freeman, and Brenda Lou James of Sutton; several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Randell Keith Lambert of Richmond, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Harold Simpson and Shirley Simpson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service hour on Sunday. At the request of the deceased, cremation will follow the funeral service.
