Phyllis Lee Hypes Lindamood

BLUEFIELD — Phyllis Lee Hypes Lindamood, 92, of Bluefield passed away Wednesday Jan. 16, 2013 at Loving Hands Nursing Home in Bluefield.

Born Aug. 20, 1920 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Floyd P. and Ida E. Broyles Hypes. Mrs. Lindamood was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Bluefield. She was also one of the founding members of the Evening Primrose Garden Club and a member of the Mercer County Home Makers Extension Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James W. Lindamood; a sister, Stella Hypes Shoemaker; a brother, Garland E. Hypes; and an infant brother, Clayton E. Hypes.

Survivors include, three sons, Larry J. Lindamood of Bluefield, Ronald W. Lindamood and wife Charlene of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Rev. Richard G. Lindamood and wife Carol of Wytheville, Va.; five grandchildren, Chris Lindamood and wife Stephanie of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Chase Lindamood of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Tracey Whitt and husband Matt of Princeton, Kelly Watts and husband Adam of Princeton, Joshua Lindamood of Lynchburg, Va.; and six great- grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lindamood will be conducted Saturday Jan. 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel Located in Bluewell with the Rev. Gary Pettrey, Dr. Robert “Bob” Boozer, and the Rev. Richard Lindamood officiating. Entombment will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery located in Bluewell. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Keith Spencer, Steven Browning, Monty St.Clair, Chris Lindamood, Josh Lindamood, and Bob Wassum Jr.

The family will receive friends at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time of services.
