BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Marie D. Ruble, 96, of 102 Roscoe St., Bluefield, Va., died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Cedar Bluff, Va., and was a daughter of the late William Clarence Davidson and Bertha Trivett Davidson.
She lived in Cedar Bluff for a brief time and then moved to Bluefield, Va. where she lived all of her life.
She was an active and lifelong member of the Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield where she was active in the church circles, and Sunday School classes. She loved camping and at the age of 90 was an avid bowler and was still driving.
She had formerly worked for Feuchtenberger Bakery in Bluefield and several years at Dudley Elementary School in the cafeteria.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Arnold Ruble; her son, Leonard R. Ruble Jr.; sister, Ruth Plaster; and by brothers, Earl Davidson and Roy Davidson.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Claudia Ruble of Middleburg, Fla.; nieces, Daralene Plaster of Bluefield, Va., Shirley Kinder and husband Ernie of Bluefield, Va., and several other nieces and nephews; grandsons, Leonard Ruble III and Matthew Ruble and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield with the Rev. Hugh Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jack Bourne, Mark Davidson, Donnie Gott, Michael Taylor, Russell Copley and Bob Crigger.
Friends may visit with the family today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edgemont Baptist Church, 2507 Jefferson Dr., Bluefield, WV 24701.
