PRINCETON —
Marvin Fred Cline, 95, of Princeton, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 At Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va. Born August 23, 1917 in Marion, Va., he was the son of the late Fred King Cline and Myrtle Mae Gross Cline.
Mr. Cline was a member of Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton since 1948. He worked for American Coal Company at Piedmont for 22 years and for the maintenance department of Mercer County Board of Education for 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hubert Arnold Cline, Harold Mason Cline and Essie David Cline and his daughter-in-law, Eunice Cline.
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Rosa Lee Widener Cline; three sons, Marvin F. Cline Jr. and wife Sandy of Belcamp, Md., John W. Cline and wife Judy of Woodstock, Ga. and Terry D. Cline of Lewisville, N.C.; one daughter, Brenda C. McKeever and husband Marion of Blue Ridge, Va.; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nurse, Temple, from the Palliative Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and caregiver, Betty Spangler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home with the Rev. Meredith Gudger-Raines officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Pallbearers will be members of the Kee Street United Methodist Men's group.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Kee Street United Methodist Church, 311 Kee Street, Princeton, WV 24740.
Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
