BANDY, Va. —
Bill Houston Cruey, age 64, of Bandy, Virginia, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 in a Bristol, Tennessee hospice house following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Tazewell County and was the son of the late Paul and Essie Ward Cruey.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a disabled miner from Koch-Raven Coal Company in Raven, Virginia. He was of the Holiness faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Cruey.
Survivors are: His wife: Linda Jackson Cruey; six sons: David Cruey and wife, Renee of Richlands, Virginia, Bobby Cruey and wife, Tammy of Richlands, Virginia, Chris Jackson of Speculator, New York, Randy Cruey of Bandy, Virginia, Ricky Cruey of Bandy, Virginia, Matthew Cruey of Bandy, Virginia; four sisters: Dolly Armes of Richlands, Virginia, Loretta Dowdy and husband, Lee of Ana coco, La., Lorraine Richardson and husband, Berk of Leesville, La., sister at heart: Shirley Jamison of Swords Creek, Virginia; one brother: Jerry Cruey and wife, Barbara of Richlands, Virginia; special nephew: Jerry Wayne Cruey. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Bill Cruey will be conducted Monday, December 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Dannie Short officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Members of Bluefield, Virginia Rescue Squad will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
