SWORDS CREEK, Va. —
Mr. James Donald Hess, age 22, of Lynn Springs section of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Thursday (March 7, 2013) from a vehicle accident. Born June 26, 1990 in Lebanon, Virginia, he was a son of Bryan and Anita Harris Hess of the home.
A 2009 graduate of Honaker High School, he was currently employed by G4S Security. He had a heart of gold and especially loved children, the elderly, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Arnold Hess and Rev. Howard Reynolds; great-grandparents, James Oliver and Sadie Price, Rev. Worley and Vida Harris, Jeff and Exie Hess, and Lonnie and Gladie Belcher; and uncle, James Dennis Hess.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his maternal grandparents, Carter Harris and Irene Harris both of Honaker; paternal grandmother, Betty Reynolds of Honaker; uncles, Adam and Sherry Price, Craig Harris, Matthew Harris, Daniel and Kennedy Harris, Wayne and April Hess, and Rick and Stephanie Hess; aunt, Karen and Bradley Honaker; special cousins, Anthony Price and Coty Hess; special friend, Jeff Vance; his feline pets, Shady and Rufus; and a host of other cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with the Rev. Ralph Dye and the Rev. Wayne Charles officiating. Interment will follow at Glenford's Mountain on Lynn Springs, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Harris, Daniel Harris, Coty Hess, Jeff Vance, Dustin Whited, and Chris Whited.
Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Harris, Anthony Price, Jody Hess, Calvin Hess, Scott Barton, Jimmy Hess, Chris Miller, and Lee Stallard.
