PETERSTOWN —
Harold Lloyd Dunford, age 72, of Peterstown, W.Va., passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the home of Michael and Gina Griggs, surrounded by his family. Born August 13, 1940 at War, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Robert Dunford and Mary Bell Rose Davis.
Harold was a self employed contractor, mostly constructing swimming pools. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was Past Commander of the American Legion Bicentennial Post 1976 at Annandale, Va. Harold had attended the Cashmere Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mark Davis; two sisters, Ruby Powell and Betty Muscelli and one brother, Jackie Dunford.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Josephine Wyatt Dunford; two sons, Harold Lloyd Dunford II and wife Maureen of Linden, Va., John Dunford and wife Cheryl of Chesterfield, Va.; two daughters, Donna Kay Stewart and husband Lewis of Spruce Pine, N.C. and Patty Ingalls and husband Jeff of Boston, Mass.; two brothers, Pete Dunford and wife Wanda of Peterstown, and Kenneth Davis and wife Phyllis of Ballard, W.Va.; six sisters, Hazel Pollard of Rich Creek, Va., Marie Shaban of Welch, W.Va., Linda Meadows and husband Gerald of Peterstown, W.Va., Jean Fuller and June Biggs both of Peterstown, W.Va. and Billie Blevins of Yadkinsville, N.C.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, W.Va. with his brother, Pete Dunford officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterstown Cemetery, Giles County, Va. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at the funeral home.
