PRINCETON —
Emma Jean Carlson, 82, of the Pisgah Road, Princeton, went to meet her Lord and Savior Friday, March 15, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born October 6, 1930, at Longpole, she was the daughter of the late Burl Collins and Rosemary Lester Collins.
Mrs. Carlson was a devoted wife, mother, grandparent, and sister. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior and was a devoted Christian who loved to share the Love of Christ with others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wayne, along with five siblings: Ethel, Juanita, Verna, Maxey and Pete.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, Bert Richard Carlson; eight living children and spouses: Linda Lambert and husband Anthony Easterly of Bristol, Tenn., Arthur James Sprouse and wife Sandra Lester of Bolt, Mary Jean Damron and husband Ted of Ikes Fork, Debra Diane Cline of Athens, Danny Ray Sprouse and wife Krystal of Hanover, Randy Joe Sprouse and wife Camy of Oceana, Sandra Sue Sprouse and husband Dennis Adams of Blountville, Tenn., and Peter Delvernon Sprouse and wife Rita of Oceana; 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; siblings: Claude Collins of Columbus, Ohio, Clyde Collins of Seneca, Ill., Vergie Benak of Illinois, Watie Smith of Lerona, Joann Wood of Lerona; a host of nephews and nieces; very special friends, Leona Wood, Faye King, and Deidree Smalec.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors James Cline, Allen Sprouse, Ted Damron and Jerry Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tad Damron, Jason Lambert, Trinity Sprouse, Danny Sprouse Jr., Steven Belcher, Allen Browning, Ronnie Brown and Scott Harris.
