BAPTIST VALLEY, Va. —
David Crockett Lowe Sr., age 68, of Baptist Valley, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his home. Born June 16, 1944, he was the son of the late T.C. and Pauline West Lowe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dewey Lowe and Sherman Lowe Sr. David was retired from the Tazewell County School System where he was a bus driver for over 30 years and also worked on the family farm. He also was the owner of a specialty cabinet shop for many years. He loved taking care of his dogs, Pember and Lady, and cats, Bobbie, Jasmine, and Molly as well as his two grand-dogs, Sage and Jazz. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Millie" Lowe of Baptist Valley, Va.; one son, David Lowe Jr. and wife Sheena of Lumberton, Texas; two daughters, Michele Lowe and Tina Mitchell and husband Bobby Jr.; two grandsons, Bobby III and Blake, all of Baptist Valley. He is also survived by one brother, Charles of Baptist Valley; two sisters, Frances Colley and husband Don of Baptist Valley, Va. and Rachel Campbell and husband Jim Sr., of North Tazewell, Va. as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. where a memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Patterson officiating.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to the Crab Orchard Veterinary Needy Pet Fund, 1402 Pisgah Rd., Tazewell, VA 24651.
