NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. —
Norman Curtis Poskas, age 56, of North Tazewell, Va., died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Welmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn.
Born November 23, 1956 at Richlands, Va., he was a son of Trula Cook Poskas of North Tazewell, Va. and the late Mike Poskas Jr. He was a Christian and attended the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and the New Covenant Fellowship. Norman had a big heart. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He adored his wife and grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mike and Myrtle Poskas; maternal grandparents, Goff and Bessie Cook.
Norman and his wife, Charlotte shared their life with their son, Gary and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Garett Blaize, Summer Ann, and Riley Kate whole lovingly called him “Gramps” and he was a special son-in-law to Burley and Ollie Willis of Bishop, Va.; sister, June Etta Repass and husband, Marshall of North Tazewell, Va.; brothers, Leon Poskas and wife, Brenda of Dublin, Va., Ronnie Poskas and wife, Rosemary of Georgetown, Ky., Michael Poskas and wife, Donna of North Tazewell, Va. and Larry Poskas and wife, Sharon of Thompson Valley in Tazewell, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with Pastor Adam Frye, the Reverend Kelvin Seabolt, and the Reverend Kenny Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013.
