BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Frank Arlin Rye, 74, of 125 Grove St., Bluefield, Va., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at his home. He was born in Boissevain, Va. and was a son of the late Frank Rye and Della Puckett Rye.
He was a former employee for Compton’s Plumbing and Heating and attended church at the Memorial Church of Christ in Princeton. He had served in the Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harless Rye; sisters, Hazel Lawson, Betty Arlene Rye; granddaughter, Marsie Anna Peguero; and a nephew, Michael Tankesley.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Sue Perdue Rye; adopted son, Christopher Rye and wife Karey of South Carolina; stepdaughters, Patricia Dillow Peguero Sweigart and husband Larry of Bluefield, W.Va., Gina Dillow Terry and companion Brian Jackson of Damascus, Va.; brothers, Bill Rye of Roanoke, Va., Charlie Rye and wife Jeannie of Roanoke, Va.; sister, Edie Tankesley and husband Bob of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Santana Peguero and fiancée Ryan Scott, Tony Peguero, Josie Sweigart, Shanna Sweigart, Jared Sweigart, Corey Rye, Anthony Rye and Matthew Rye; great-grandchild, Reagan Peguero.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. with Pastor Adam McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Bobby Hood, Eugene Munsey, Mike Johnson and Douglas S. Lovell.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va. is serving the Rye family.
