BLUEFIELD, Va. —
William (Bill) Sarver of Bluefield, Va. lost his fight with cancer at his home on February 14, 2013 at the age of 70. Bill was born on September 26, 1942 to Harry and Ruby Sarver in West Graham (Bluefield), Va. Bill served our country in both the United States Army and the Navy.
Bill is survived by his wife, Regina Bailey Sarver; stepmother, Francis Presley; daughter and son-in-law, Columbia and Mark Dorminey; brothers and their wives, Richard and Agatha Sarver, Randall and Eunice Sarver; sister and husband, Barbara and John Cox; grandchild, Nathanael Dorminey; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
“Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight, Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light” -- Dylan Thomas. These words will forever be etched in our hearts and minds as we remember Bill. He was a loving, caring husband; father, brother, uncle and friend. He was and will always be loved by us all and will truly be missed. We love you!
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. with the Rev. Larry Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Richard Sarver, Randall Sarver, Mark Dorminey, John Cox, Joshua Wooldridge and Joey Nipper. Military services will be conducted by the Bluefield, Va. VFW Memorial Post 9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post 14.
Friends may visit with the family today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
