Benny Ray Roberts, 77, of Princeton, died peacefully Saturday morning, December 15, 2012 at his home. Born November 22, 1935 at Matoaka, he was the son of the late Ira Roberts and Stella Mae Burton Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He operated R&P Auto Sales in Princeton for 35 years. He enjoyed being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Roberts and Basil Roberts.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pattie Sue Mann Roberts; four daughters, Cindy Wyrick and her husband Ronnie of Princeton, Deborah White and her husband Gaylord of Rock, Danetta Sutphin of Princeton and Loretta Justice and her husband Tracy of Princeton; one brother, Jack Roberts of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Beatrice Cecil and her husband Larry of Princeton and Kathleen Roberts of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Kristin and her husband Robert of Princeton, Rebecca and her husband Bryan of Wytheville, Va., Kimberly, Megan, Audra, Patti and Paydon; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Brett and Karson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Danny Gunnoe officiating. Interment will follow at Elgood Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
