RICHLANDS, Va —
Wanda Blankenship Shelton, age 60, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012. Born December 21, 1951 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Mabel Alice Meadows Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Acie Blankenship; her second husband, George Shelton Sr.; and one brother, Danny Blankenship.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Vanover of Bland, Va.; granddaughter, Tanya Proffitt of Bland, Va.; stepdaughter, Vivian Shelar and husband Jerry of Honaker, Va.; two step-granddaughters, Whitney and Abigail Marrs of Honaker, Va.; one brother, Coy Blankenship and wife Sandy of Lebanon, Va.; two sisters, Wilma Shelton and husband Ray of Claypool Hill, Va. and Melissa Shook of Jonesville, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with the Rev. Leon Vandyke and the Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
