KIMBALL —
Shirley M. Harrison, 72, of Kimball, W.Va. (Carswell Addition), went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday night, Nov. 27, 2012, at her residence after a long illness. Born Nov. 26, 1940 in Big Four, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter K. England and Mildred Blevins England.
She was an active member of the Keystone Church of God, Keystone, W.Va. and also attended the Maybeury Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a former Legal Assistant for the Law Firms of Brumfield & Watson, and Attorney Colonel Ballard, Welch, W.Va. She was a resident of McDowell County all her life.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Deanna Sue England.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, James “Big Jim” Harrison of the home; two daughters, Beth Ann Newberry and husband, Eric of Richlands, Va., Jayne “Mi Mi” Burks and husband, Michael, of Kimball, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Lori Beth Lowe and husband, Phillip, of Doran, Va., Krystle Ann Burdette and husband, Shawn, of Pipestem, W.Va., Jeremy Burks and Sarah Burks, both of Kimball, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Austin Lowe of Doran, Va., Abigail Burdette of Pipestem, W.Va.; one sister, Betty Tabor of Albright, W.Va.; one niece, April Christopher of Albright, W.Va.; her very special and devoted caregiver, Beverly Watkins of Kimball, W.Va.; several additional nieces and nephews; three step-grandchildren, Erika, Blake, and Betsy Newberry of Richlands, Va.; two step-great-grandchildren, Brandon and Savannah Lowe of Doran, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted today (Friday), Nov. 30, 2012, at 12:00 noon, at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va. with the Rev. Kenneth Abram officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W.Va.
Friends called Thursday night at the Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry England, John “Butch” Foster, Michael Gianato, Jeremy Burks, Blake Newberry, and Steve Christopher.
