BLUEFIELD —
Patricia Ann Kennedy, age 65, of 173 Windmill Hill Road, Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Athens.
Born on May 21, 1947 in New Richmond, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Fremont and Anna Abbott Decker. She had been a resident of Bluewell for 44 years and was a former labor and delivery nurse at Princeton Community Hospital with 21 years of service. She was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ, the Disabled Veterans and the Humane Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie E. Kennedy; a son, Edward Ray Kennedy; father-in-law, Peck (Poppy) Bailey; son-in-law, Vyn Sonn; and a sister, Gracie Kirtley.
Survivors include: Three daughters: Reva Kay Sonn of Athens, Lynn Winkle and husband Jimmy of Greenfield, Ind., Tina Cook and husband Jesse Cook Jr. of Princeton; two sons: Freddie W. Kennedy of Bluewell, William (Billy) Kennedy and wife Brenda of Bluefield; nine grandchildren: Candase Eaton and husband Donnie, Tyler Cook, Nicholas Winkle, Amber Alvarez, McKenzie Hellmandollar, Ashley Price and husband Cody, Cayla (KK) Helmandollar, Patrick O’Donnell and Kelli O’Donnell; seven great-grandchildren: Kobe and Alex Connell, Savannah and Sierra Wallace, Logan Hart, Aiden Price, Brody O’Donnell; three brothers: Bill Brooks of Kentucky, Ikie Brooks of Nebraska, Earl Decker of South Carolina; two sisters: Barbara Johnson and husband Fuzzy of Oakvale, W.Va., Mary Jane Reed of Florida.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Randy Thieman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Donnie Eaton, Tyler Cook, Jesse Cook, Jimmy Winkle, Fuzzy Johnson, Monte Coppolo, and Jimmy Martin will serve as pallbearers. Bobby and Stephen Belcher will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
