PRINCETON —
Clarence “C.T.” Swim Jr., 82, of Holly Hills in Princeton, died Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 8, 1930, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Clarence T. Swim Sr. and Nellie Inez Elmore Swim.
He retired from Princeton Community Hospital where he was a Maintenance Supervisor. C.T. was instrumental in the formation of the Princeton Rescue Squad in 1961. He was a member of First Christian Church on Straley Avenue in Princeton and a former Boy Scout Leader. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World and Princeton Moose Lodge No. 1521.
He was a 1949 graduate of Princeton High School and a lifelong resident of Princeton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Taylor Hammes and Vera Cruise, and one infant brother, Hubert Swim.
C.T. is survived by one daughter, Jean Wills and her husband Mike of Princeton; two sons, Ed Swim and his wife Cindy of Powhatan, Va., and Donald Swim and his wife Christina, of Princeton; his former wife and mother of his children, Betty Hanks Swim of Princeton; four grandchildren, M. Keith Wills of Clover, S.C., Jill Swim Anderson and her husband Kurt of Chesterfield, Va., Morgan Swim of Powhatan, Va., and Amber Swim of Princeton; one great-grandson, Landon Anderson; and special friend, Virginia Wiley of Rocky Gap, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Bill Pollack officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Danny Roberts, Jeff Poff, Robbie Ruble, Danny Wills, Kevin Barr, Kenny Whittaker, Rick Dalton, and Paul Powell. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday (today), October 8, 2012, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton.
