BLUEFIELD —
Mrs. Mildred Jamison Martin, age 90, a life long resident of 1208 Greenbrier Street in Bluefield, W.Va., peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Westwood Medical Center in Bluefield, Va.
She was born July 17, 1922 in McComas, W.Va., and the daughter of the late Frank and Annie Hairston Jamison. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of Scott Street Baptist Church in Bluefield where she served as a choir member. She loved God and was generous to those in need. She enjoyed baking and was known as a historian who collected interesting news articles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Felix Martin and seven of her siblings.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family which includes: Two nephews, Stephen L. and his wife, Linda Jamison of Columbia, S.C. and Maxwell Jamison of Petersburg, Va.; niece, Lesa Jamison of Jamaica, N.Y.; one brother, Earl Jamison of New York; a sister-in-law, Jean Jamison of Atlantic City, N.J.; and a host of other relatives, her Church family and friends.
Service for Mrs. Martin will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Restlawn Mausoleum Chapel on Route 20, Littlesburg Road in Bluewell, W.Va. with her pastor, the Reverend Garry Moore officiating. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Mausoleum.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until time of service at the Mausoleum Chapel.
Arrangements entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, W.Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Scott Street Baptist Church, 600 Scott Street, Bluefield, WV 24701.
