WELCH —
Joe Hassan III, age 57, of 78 Franklin Street, Welch, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Welch Community Hospital.
Born on February 26, 1955 in Welch, he was a son of Mary Jean Steele Hassan of Welch and the late Joe Hassan Jr. He was a 1973 graduate of Welch High School. He owned several rental properties in Welch and ran the bowling alley in Welch for 20 years before pursuing his computer science degree from Bluefield State College, in which he graduated in 2000.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hassan Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Steele.
Survivors include: Mother: Mary Jean Steele Hassan of Welch; three daughters: Destiny Hassan of Princeton, Jessica Hassan of Welch, Rebecca Hassan of Northfork; two grandchildren: Brendon Thomas and Emilynn Thomas; three brothers: Ronald D. Hassan of Welch, W.Va., Samuel B. Hassan of Welch, W.Va., Blake W. Hassan of Gastonia, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Ronald Felts officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
