PREMIER —
Greenville Carson "Big Charlie" Marshall Jr., age 47, of Premier, W.Va., passed on to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born July 14, 1965, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Greenville and Judy Williams Marshall of Premier.
Charlie was just a blessing to be around. He loved his daily trips to Wal-Mart and would speak to everyone he came in contact with and never forgot a face. Charlie could always be seen at different restaurants in the area and the employees would always make him feel special, because he was.
As a child Charlie attended Premier Pentecostal Holiness Sunday School and Big Sandy learning center where he made many friends.
As an adult he attended Southern Highlands Learning Center. He loved to go to Bingo at the American Legion on Monday nights in Welch, where they always made him feel so welcome. Charlie also loved going to the local festivals and fund raisers and enjoyed the music of Joe Ford and his friends.
Preceded in death by his great-grandparents, the late Wiley and Maudie Stanley Marshall, and the late Howard Charlie and Eliza Mary Thompson Marshall and also the late Lester and Lucy Williams; aunts, Nellie Mae Shaw, Geraldine Williams, Donna Sue Williams; and uncles, Frankie and James Williams.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving parents, Greenville and Judy Williams Marshall of Premier; his two brothers, Raymond Marshall and his wife Mary, Billy Joe Marshall and his wife Melissa; three nephews, Steven, Greg and Andrew Marshall; two nieces, Ashley and Emily Marshall all of Premier; his aunts and uncles include, Gloria Faye and Ronnie Saatman, and Bonnie Marshall and John Clifford all of Hartley, Del., Jerry and Connie Williams of Glenwood, Mildred and John Lester and Harold and Donna Williams all of Thomasville, N.C., David Williams of Mt. Olive, W.Va., Charlotte Warrix of Indianapolis, Ind.; several cousins and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at 1 p.m. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch with the Reverend Randall Dority, officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery at Big Jenny.
Friends may call Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the funeral home, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
